The intent of this piece is to be a whimsical creation to contrast the somewhat bleak meaning and understanding that everything is ephemeral. How the physical creation ends up doesnt matter, it more is a focus on the reflections and light it creates in the time that it is in the sunshine. It interacts with light and reflects its colorful skin to the surrounding area to make it match the skin.
