This is the story of how i gave the worst response of all time during salary negotiations at my first software engineering job. At the time, this amount was completely life changing and never in my wildest dream would I have ever imagined making this type of salary. Even so, i think I have a great lesson here on how NOT to lowball yourself. A side note, I might have also been the lowest paid senior software engineer in the whole bay area at the time.
