As soon as the sun gets hot, it's time to put on your summer hat. It is especially necessary when you have your own garden or summer cottage. Usually this is a Panama hat, scarf or cap.
But a headdress should not only protect the head from the heat, but also decorate its owner.
Usually, when sewing a Panama hat, you need to measure the circumference of your head. But today I’ll show you how easy it is to sew an unusual feminine headdress for any size. Using a cord, the product can be reduced or enlarged.
In addition, it is easy and simple to sew, and it will take an hour of time, or even less, to sew it. And what is important is that this cap will not be blown away by the wind; it sits deeply and comfortably on the head. Another advantage is that it is a twosided model.
How to sew:
1) You will need two pieces of cotton fabric measuring 56x40 cm. Fold them right sides together.
2) In the two upper corners you need to mark the measurements of 18 cm and make a semicircle. Cut out.
3) On the bottom side, mark 2.5 cm from the edges. This part is for the cord and will not be stitched.
4) Cut the semicircle with scissors.
5) Next, sew 15 cm 2.5 cm marks.
6) Now we sew in the details from the bottom line on three sides, including the curves. And also along the bottom line, leaving room for turning.
7) Turn the hat inside out and iron it. We put a stitch on the top part, and a drawstring for the cord at a distance of 1.5 cm from the edge.
8) We sew the lower part completely, leaving space for the cord at the edges.
Cord:
Cut out a strip of fabric measuring 68x3 cm, fold it in half along the long side and fold it inward at the edge. Let's make a line.
Now we thread the cord into the hat with a pin and tighten the fabric. The result is a drop, this is the back part that can be adjusted.
We turn the edge of the headdress 45 cm, and you can try it on.
This thing can be worn from any direction.
