I Paid $99 for a BROKEN Xbox Elite 2 This One Was A Tricky Fix. The controller was in pretty good condition except for the strong smoke smell. However, after testing I found several of the buttons didn't work. Once I got the controller opened up I found the controller had liquid damage. Cleaned everything up and tested it again...but the buttons still didn't work. Reflowed a BGA chip on one of the motherboards...but that also didn't get the buttons working. Then I noticed more liquid damage on another one of the chips. Cleaned that up and resoldered the joints and then tested the buttons again and...they worked! A bit of a tricky fix but good to finally get everything working.

However, when I tested the controller a bunch of the buttons didn't work including the shoulder and ABXY buttons. Once I got the controller opened up I found liquid damage on one of the motherboards. Cleaned everything up and tested it again...but the buttons still didn't work. Next I tried reflowing a BGA chip on one of the motherboards...but that also didn't get the buttons working. Then I noticed one of the chips on the other motherboard had some liquid damage. Once that was cleaned up and the joints resoldered I tested the buttons again and...they worked! A bit of a tricky fix but good to finally get everything working.
