I was annoyed that it didn't work out for me last time. I decided to do it all over again, this time using what I learned last time to mine more oil than ever before. Using that money I could buy stock in the town and become the Mayor sooner than later. This works out great as I also find all the treasures along the way which help me find better ground in the new areas, plus the insane bonus island with more oil than I know what to do with.
