Xinjiang is located in the northwest region, accounting for onesixth of the country's land area and borders eight countries. It has the magnificent Tianshan Mountains, Kanas Lake and Taklimakan Desert. Xinjiang is a place where many ethnic groups live together, mainly Uighurs, Kazakhs and Kirgiz. In terms of food, the grilled mutton skewers, handpicked rice and grilled naan are particularly outstanding.
