This is the first video in a series on taking the Mooney to Backcountry airstrips in Idaho. In this part, I talk briefly on the purpose and preparation before the trip, but mainly I discuss the many challenges I face on the very first leg. I experienced a problemfraught oil change, a dead magneto, and an inflight fuel leak, all of which could have spelled the end of the mission just as it began. Follow along as I push through these issues and eventually make it to camp in the wilderness airstrips of Idaho.
