Ice swimming, or avantouinti as we call it in Finnish, is one of my favourite pastimes in winter.

In this video I show how I usually go swimming during the cold winter time. I like to wear a beanie and after swimming, stand on the deck in the cool air for a while.

Many people wear special ice swimming socks when they take the plunge. I am going to a buy a pair as well because as you may see in the video, my wet feet tend to stick to the icy stairs!

This is also the first winter I've been ice swimming with my ostomy.

Note: If you want to try ice swimming, please ask your doctor if it suits you. Don't swim too far, especially if you're a beginner!
