In honor of Tina Turner's passing on May 24th, here's the Madison Square Garden performance of Ike & Tina Turner (opening for the Rolling Stones) with Janis Joplin. Sorry about the audio but it's not that bad for a bootleg recorded in the late 60s. Can't remember where I got this but I'm quite sure(?) this is the real deal. The recording cuts off halfway and then segues into the part where Janis jumped on stage and the crowd went nuts. I'm pretty sure I can hear both Tina and Janis in the second part despite the sound quality. I compared this version to the one in the officially released CD (Get Yer YaYa's Out!) and they're definitely not the same. Here's me hoping for an official release of this legendary performance.
