In this video, I will show you how to properly activate your software using the iLok License Manager. I often get messages and emails from people struggling to get their software licensed properly so I decided to create this video. In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a free iLok account, download and install the iLok License Manager, and the 3 different way to activate a license.

Creating an iLok account is a simple process. All you have to do is go to ilok.com and click "create a free account" located near the top. After you fill out your information you will receive a confirmation email. Confirm your email and your account will be successfully created.

Downloading the iLok License Manager software couldn't be any easier as the installers are accessible right on the home page. They have installers for Mac OS, Windows 32 bit, and Windows 64 bit. Choose the installer that matches up with your computer and then download it. Installing the software is no different than any other application. At the end of the installation process you will be prompted to restart your computer so make sure you don't forget that step.

Now that the iLok License Manager software is installed, you can get your products activated. You can activate a license on the cloud, desktop, or physical iLok. The choice is mostly yours but in some cases the manufacturer will tell you how they want it done. Follow the instructions for the product your purchased to achieve the best results.
