Why do we do this? What is it about landscape photography that makes us slog up a mountain in subzero temperatures only to face crushing disappointment?

I must be the most optimistic pessimist in existence. I already know the chances of success are slim to none, but still, I try. Nothing, however, seems to shake the nauseating enthusiasm of Brent Henderson, who once again...is in my shot.

Amanda treats us to a logsplitting masterclass while I impress Brent with my knowledge of the surrounding mountains and their names.

Will the rain ever stop? Will I manage to squeeze into my marshmallow suit and will Brent submit to my offer of a free prostate check and stay in my chasm?

There's really only one way to find out.
