I fill the pond with gravel, a substrate for aquatic plants that will filter the water in the swimming pond. I manage to do half of the work with a tractor, and I transport and pour the remaining twentysomething tons with a wheelbarrow.

I lay out pipes in the pond for the water filtration system. Marta makes a preliminary plan for the arrangement of plants, which is important due to their different requirements for water depth and which I take into account when filling the pond with gravel.

Marta shows us around our blooming September vegetable garden. The last harvest is ahead of us there are pumpkins, zucchini, peppers, beans, radishes, potatoes...

I build stairs to the swimming pond. The steps may be slippery from the water, so I make cuts in them to create a nonslip surface.
