What are the recent migration updates for state nominations? So far other than the Northern Territory and WA all the states are still open.

After the invitation round in March Victoria may close soon. Migration Tasmania has announced that they are only accepting registrations of interest that have been allocated to Gold Pass for the remainder of the 2023 to 2024 program.

This is because the demand for the 190 nomination exceeds the number of available places.

How many invitations are left for state nominated 190 and 491 visas?

In this chart you can see the allocations left for each state up to the 29th of February 2024.
For example, New South Wales has 996 190 visas left and 427 491s left. Queensland has 220 190 left and 284 491 visas left and SA has 261 190 and 451 491 visas left

As the invitations for state nominations are very limited this year and some of the other states may be closing soon.

You may want to consider other visa options such as employer sponsored, 482’s or partner visas or student visas, or the global talent visa. Having a Plan B is essential. Recently, we had many inquiries, especially about the 482 sponsored visa and partner visas. If you are planning to apply for one of these visas, please contact us.
