An incomplete immigration application or other application such as a study permit or work permit must be deemed complete by the immigration department. If the immigration department deems the application incomplete, it may return the application. This can create difficulty if there is a deadline that must be met. Such deadlines may be related to the age of a dependent child, or the expiration of an immigration program. A returned application may thus lead to a dependent child becoming ineligible or the failure to meet a filing deadline for a temporary program such as the TR to Permanent resident pathway.
