Implicit Differentiation Method for taking Derivatives || Calculus I

This tutorial explains what implicit differentiation is and how we use it to differentiate expressions and equations that have a variable that is NOT defined as the independent variable. Other times, we have equations that contain several variables such as x's and y's mixed together. In that case, we need to take the derivative with respect to x (d/dx) of both sides, apply implicit differentiation where needed, then isolate the dy/dx (the specific notation depends on the problem). Several examples are covered.
