Indianorigin British author VS Naipaul passed away on August 11th at the age of 85.
Regarded by many as the greatest novelist of his time, the Trinidadborn author wrote 29 books both fiction and nonfiction.
His book, In a Free State won him the Booker Prize in 1971, and in 2001, he was presented the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Naipaul was not one to mince words... He launched scathing attacks not only against his peers, but also against the place he belonged to. His life saw huge controversies, dividing critics and readers alike.
