The first hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season Beryl, became the first MAJOR hurricane of the season Sunday. It was a Cat 4 Sunday afternoon, making Beryl the earliest category 4 hurricane on record.

The storm weakened a bit Sunday night, but early Monday has strengthened again as it moves through the Windward Islands.
