On July 12, 2024, Avelo Airlines launched their 49th destination: Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). This is their second airport in the DC area following Baltimore (BWI) in 2022, with Avelo being the 43rd and latest carrier to serve the US capital’s international airport. Here, I took the inaugural flight from TweenNew Haven Airport (HVN), complete with two water cannon salutes, and a ribbon cutting with officials from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

As frequently noted, the Boeing 737700 is my favorite aircraft.
