Sleep paralysis is defined as having three main components: intruder, incubus, and vestibularmotor. This film explores the incubus stage, exploring the sensations and atmosphere of sleep paralysis using white noise and dissonant audio, dark shots and lighting, and contrasting movements between the two dancers. The idea is mental vs physical, as sleep paralysis is able to occur because of the brain’s disconnection from the body during REM and NREM sleep.
