Happy 4th July! This is really good fun, surprising, a little jumpy, epic in scale and genuinely funny. All in all, a perfect holiday film to just simply enjoy! Bring back the blockbuster! Written by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, Directed by Roland Emmerich, starring Will Smith, Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum, Mary McDonnell, Randy Quaid and Margaret Colin.

What strikes us about this film is the epic scale and vision and the multiprotagonist story structure. There are cheesy moments, but it shouldn't steer attention away from what is a complicated script to juggle all the stories and the execution of it is outstanding. It manages to hit blockbuster epic and all the comedy as well.
