Hayat Qalandar Mangrulpir

Hayat Qalandar was the son of Yahya. His native place was Batach. It is said that he had fought against Mangaliya and done him to death. Both the Hindus and the Muslims were his followers. It is the tradition among the Hindus that at the time of marriage ceremony, the couple pays a visit to his shrine and distribute "Parasad". Another miracle of the saint is narrated that since his settlement in the town, upto this time there exist neither wine shops nor night clubs. It can be imagined very well how these things play a destruc tive role in the social and religious lives of the people. The saint died in 659 A. H./1261 A. D.'
