Polaris recently declared a new service bulletins for touring bikes with power windscreens like the Challenger and Chieftain. If your windscreen gear has broken and even if you're out of warranty, you can now get it replaced at the dealer for free with a new, redesigned part.

Since not everyone wants to deal with a dealer, and since the new part is untested, another option, and the one I personally used, is to get an all metal replacement part from Steve Kovacs at https://mysticfirecycles.square.site and fix it yourself.
