SCOTT ON TAPE - Your Pop Culture Tour Guide

In this video, for the 25th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s tragic death, I’m spending the night INSIDE his apartment on Pear street in Olympia Washington. I take you on a tour of his first apartment that he lived in and also into his second apartment (where he roomed with Dave Grohl) which is located in the same building. Every inch of the apartment is covered as I made sure to show everything that a Nirvana fan would want to see. I also show you a secret rehearsal space located on the property that no one else has seen before.

This video is for all of Kurt’s fans and I truly hope you enjoy it and remember Kurt, the boy from Aberdeen with the blue eyes.

Kurt Donald Cobain (February 20, 1967 – April 5, 1994) was an American singer, songwriter, and musician, best known as the guitarist and frontman of the rock band Nirvana. Cobain is remembered as one of the most iconic and influential rock musicians in the history of alternative music.
The unassuming house at 114 Pear St NE was erected around 1914 and is a triplex, with two apartments on the street and a small third apartment in the rear. Musician Kurt Cobain lived in this house between 1989 and 1991 and, according to sources, wrote about 75% of his total lifetime output here. The house has become a Mecca for Nirvana, Cobain, and grunge fans, although it is not inventoried or marked in any way. Nirvana’s first hit, “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” was inspired by graffiti written on the wall of this apartment by Bikini Kill artist Kathleen Hanna.
On April 8, Cobain's body was discovered at his Lake Washington Boulevard home by electrician Gary Smith,[ who had arrived to install a security system. Apart from a minor amount of blood coming out of Cobain's ear, the electrician reported seeing no visible signs of trauma and initially believed that Cobain was asleep until he saw the shotgun pointing at his chin. A note was found, addressed to Cobain's childhood imaginary friend Boddah, that stated that Cobain had not "felt the excitement of listening to as well as creating music, along with really writing [...] for too many years now". A high concentration of heroin and traces of diazepam were also found in his body. Cobain's body had been lying there for days; the coroner's report estimated Cobain to have died on April 5, 1994 at the age of 27.
