SYNOPSIS:
At one of the country’s greatest World War Two airbases, a team of dedicated engineers is working round the clock to return Britain’s most iconic aircraft to the skies. In this six part series, we follow Spitfire Factory owner Peter Monk and his team of restoration experts as they bolt, rivet and hammer a 70yearold Spitfire back to flying condition. With £2 million pounds on the line, and a looming deadline on the horizon, there’s no room for error.

As the restoration progresses, we discover the surprising and fascinating history of this World War II icon. Through veterans, pilots, historians, experts and enthusiasts, we uncover the story that turned an aeroplane into a legend.

In this clip, the engineering team attempts to reattach one of the wings of their Greek Air Force Mark IX Spitfire restoration.
