Insurgency Sandstorm received an unnecessary downgrade in the 1.11 update. In the patch notes for update 1.11 NWI stated that they 'Fixed an animation issue that could occur when picking up thrown mines by disabling the ability to throw mines.' Mines can now only be planted. In my 1600 hours of playing this game and as an avid user of mines as poor man's alternative to C4 I have never encountered any bugs related to mines. If there was an issue to do with the mines they could've simply added it to the known issues list to fix at a later date but no. What they did instead was apply a bandaid fix by disabling the ability to throw them rather than fix the root problem.

Now that the ability to throw mines has been removed the usefulness & experience using them has been drastically degraded.
You can no longer move while placing down a mine.
The animation for planting mines is slower than throwing them.
The areas in which you can place mines has been limited.
You cannot pick up the mines.
The voice lines for placing down a mine do not play.
