Intro to Dungeons u0026 Dragons (5e) Part 3 - Creating Characters #2 [ ASMR ]

Follow
Ephemeral Rift

The Dungeon Master welcomes ye, weary travelers, to part 3 of an introduction to the tabletop roleplaying game Dungeons and Dragons (5th Edition), where we create 2 more characters for our upcoming dungeon crawl.

As a casual player myself & by no means an expert, this video series is more about fun and the relaxation than it is discussing rules. It's geared towards beginners and those new to the game, or for those who have never even seen or heard of it.

Apologies for the delay! We'll try to get this back on track every month, with the next video being the creation of an adventure, followed by the playthrough of it.

What is ASMR?

In my subjective view, ASMR is 2 things: a sensation and a medium (like music for example).

The sensation itself (ASMR) stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (nonscientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention.

ASMR videos, the medium, are not only meant to help induce the sensation or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to relieve their anxiety, stress, headaches, insomnia, to help those suffering with PTSD or depression, to serve as a study aid and much more. It is quite therapeutic, for both the creator and recipient, not much different than the mediums of music and painting.

Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy affect.
