Habitat inventories are useful assessments that inform balanced resource management, and conservation and restoration efforts in marine ecosystems. The Gulf of Mexico Benthic Habitat Inventory ArcGIS Dashboard application dynamically displays statistics for habitat units that have been characterized by applying the Coastal and Marine Ecological Classification Standard vocabulary and spatial framework to geomorphic features and their associated aquatic and biogeographic settings and depth zones.
