Iodine is not an element that we think about a lot in our reef tanks usually only as a dip for curing pests on new sps corals. It might worth thinking about dosing iodine in our reef aquariums though since there are actually a lot of different plants and animals in our tanks that all use it for protection, for their skeleton, and as part of their color. Dosing iodine with a dosing pump along with other trace elements isn't hard either, and it's one of the elements that's really hard to overdose as well.

I would say don't dose what you don't test for so if you're interested check out the video and pick up a test kit and some iodine and see what you can improve in your reef tank! Also, if you just want to see some iodine sublimation that's also in the video!
