Former Secret Service special agent Charles Marino has branded Iran the “neighbourhood troublemaker” of the Middle East after Iranian hackers stole classified information from Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

The information was reportedly sent to individuals affiliated with Joe Biden's campaign in June and July.

US officials believe the hackers work for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

“Iran has filled that vacuum right now in terms of the neighbourhood troublemaker and it's no surprise that they would try and compromise the Trump campaign," he told Sky News host Gabriella Power.
