Since starting my YouTube guitar lessons channel, people have often commented things like, "you seem to be teaching the CAGED system without mentioning the CAGED system." I've tried to answer those in comments in the past. But many have asked me to do a video on my take on CAGED. Essentially, I do use chord shapes to visualize chords and scales up the fretboard, but I have some reservations about the way CAGED is used and taught, especially by guitar teachers on YouTube. Learn to see the fretboard with just some parts of the system and I think you'll be better off, and learn it faster!
