MidMichigan Health’s Bariatric Surgery Program is offered at two convenient locations. Our team of skilled bariatric surgeons perform three different laparascopic bariatric procedures in Alma at MidMichigan Medical Center–Gratiot, as well as in Midland at MidMichigan Medical Center–Midland. The RouxenY Gastric Bypass procedure involves separating a large section of the stomach, leaving a tiny pouch. This tiny pouch reduces the amount of food a person can eat before feeling full. There is also malabsorption due to bypassing a segment of the small bowel, which further contributes to weight loss.
