Is Their Gouache as Good as their Watercolor? DaVinci Gouache Review

Today I am reviewing Davinci Artist Gouache. I purchased mine during the Black Friday sale at Blick where it was 60% off list: https://shrsl.com/4f551 More options on colors can be found on the DaVinci website: https://davincipaints.com/shopdavin...

BTW the beautiful ceramic palette I featured is by FraNord Handmade on ETSY https://www.etsy.com/shop/franordhand...

At the end of the review, I mentioned maybe adding a cadmium red and cadmium yellow to my palette but they do not offer cadmium or cobalt paint in their gouache it seems.

Pros:
Price/value
Comes in large tubes
Made in the USA
Pigment and lightfast info included on tube
Drys down well without cracking (if you want to make a dry palette)
Rewets well

Cons:
Most colors were transparent even though they were listed as opaque
Several colors were shiny in mass tone although they were listed as matte
The paint has a sticky and stingy texture that is unlike the smooth and creamy consistency in gouache I am used to.

Bottom line: These paints are most similar to the Mission Titanium class gouache or the Kueretake Gansai Tambi watercolors. If you like those paints these would be a nice option for refilling your palette. As far as a typical gouache goes these are not my personal favorite but they do have good reviews on Blick so maybe I chose poor colors or my opinion is unpopular. The white is a solid value though. Maybe try a couple of colors and see what you think.
