In this guitar lesson I'll be breaking down my absolute favourite Robben Ford outside device aka the Lydian Dominant scale and showing you how to use it within a minor blues. I think this is a really beautiful, slightly mysterious sound, and it's arguably the most accessible of our 'outside' scales. I'll be taking you through the main steps from the theory, outlining dominant 7 chords, adding the #4 colour, using triad pairs and then repurposing melodic minor/altered ideas.
