The curling iron is the fastest, longlasting technique for waving hair. In the 1920s, when finger waves were all the rage, the Marcel wave was a common service hairstylists used to style this popular hairstyle. But I have this article from 1933 describing another technique that styles the finger wave look and takes way less time and effort than the traditional Marcel wave. It's called the Croquignole Marcel Wave.
