Last year I made a video titled “Is WordPress Dying?” where I talked about the entire story of WordPress and how it became the world’s most popular CMS. But for various reasons discussed in the video, it had suddenly dipped in popularity over recent years.

Given that Barn2 is a WordPress plugin company, we have a great deal of investment in the popularity of WordPress as a whole. So we took another look at the numbers to see what’s really going on in the industry.

But what I want to focus on is what all this means for you guys, the web developers, designers, agencies, and entrepreneurs that are watching this video. Should you continue to stick with WordPress? And is it even worth learning how to use it as a newcomer?

I’ll be honest, there are still some pretty big challenges that WordPress needs to overcome to regain its status as the #1 choice for web designers, which I’ll discuss today, and hopefully we can answer the main question of this video; “is WordPress still relevant today?”.
