Is Your Pain From Lack of ROM?

When you notice pain in a movement what’s your goto assumption?
Lack of sleep? Nutrition? Weakness?

What about… missing the basic range of motion required to do that activity?

For instance, if I am biking, I am looking at two elements here:
1⃣ Bringing my knee up to my chest (hip flexion)
2⃣ Adequate ROM when I bring my leg down

I can test this out off of the bike… and if it’s clear that I don’t have access to those positions, that’s a sign of:

➡ Inefficiency
➡ The need for mobilizations to restore or improve positional efficiency.
Here’s the thing: my SPORT might not require that ROM…however…

My BODY needs this much ROM in order to express:
More movement choice
Total exposure
Absolute power
