Israel reportedly used massive payload bombs provided by the US to attack AlMawasi, in one of the bloodiest strike in Gaza. The bombing of the "safe zone" turned the tent city into a charred wasteland, overwhelming nearby hospitals with casualties. According to the health ministry in the Hamasrun territory, the barrage killed at least 92 people and wounded over 300. The Israeli military said that it targeted two "masterminds" of the October 7 attacks by Hamas that triggered the war.
