Lebanon is waking after a night of sustained and relentless bombing of its capital, and other targets throughout the country. Southern Beirut was hit by an intense wave of airstrikes, which Israel says was aimed at sites belonging to Hezbollah, in the heavily populated suburb of Dahiyeh.
Fire has engulfed buildings across the area. Many have been reduced to rubble. Our coverage begins with Al Jazeera’s Ali Hashem who sent this report from from Southern Lebanon.
