The Bristol Brigand was a British antishipping and ground attack aircraft developed and produced by the Bristol Aeroplane Company during the late 1940s. It was designed in response to the Air Ministry's request for a torpedo aircraft to replace the Bristol Beaufighter. The Brigand was based off the Bristol Buckingham bomber and envision aged to fight as a long range torpedo strike aircraft in the Far East during the Second World War. However, the end of the war came before this occurred and it would enver see service as a torpedo strike aircraft, instead being repurposed as a ground attack aircraft. In this form it would go on to serve with the Royal Air Force in the Malayan Emergency.
