Verge Goes Bright Orange with New TS Pro California Edition
The new seasonal color evokes the Golden State's official state flower, the California Poppy.

Last year, it was talking about its intention to launch in the US, and so it debuted a new, special California Edition version of the TS Pro at the 2023 LA Auto Show.

Like pomegranates and dates, this Verge TS Pro California Edition is apparently 'seasonal'. Although its color somewhat resembles a persimmon tree, the actual hue is inspired by California's state flower, the poppy.

Other features of the California Edition include twotone upper trim, special California Edition branding, perforated leather seating with orange lower trim, full Öhlins suspension and infotainment system, tabletlike display that you will see mounted on top of where the tank will be located on this combustion bike. .

The Verge TS Pro rides on an integrated hub motor platform, providing direct power without the need for another type of final drive. This offers several advantages.

The first is that there is more room in the main body of the bike for a larger battery pack, thus offering more range. Another is that riders don't have to worry about chain or belt maintenance. Third, since the engine directly drives the rear wheel, there is no loss of power traveling from the engine to the rear wheel.

The manufacturer's specifications include a claimed torque of 102 kilowatts (just under 137 horsepower) and 1,000 newtonmeters (about 737.5 poundfeet) of torque. Claimed top speed is 194 mph with a zeroto60 acceleration time of 3.5 seconds.

Verge claims a city range of up to 257 miles on a single charge, or 124 miles on the highway. Please note that while most electric motorcycle manufacturers list different highway ranges at both 55 and 70 mph, The Verge only lists an unspecified highway range. Additionally, EU Regulation 134/2014 Annex VII lists its range as 190 miles.

The Verge TS Pro uses CCS fast charging, which Verge says can fully charge the bike in just 35 minutes.

The Verge TS Pro California Edition comes with an unspecified Öhlins suspension. Interestingly, if you go through the configurator on the regular TS Pro, your suspension options are between Öhlins and Wilbers, but even there you can only choose the manufacturer, with no suspension details given. The Verge lists suspension travel figures as 4.72 inches in the front and 4.17 inches in the rear.

With all this power, drivers will also want to have the confidence that they can stop and/or slow down when they need to. The Verge TS Pro California Edition comes with a pair of Brembo M4.32 fourpiston brake calipers up front and a pair of 320mm Galfer brake discs. At the rear, you'll find a single fourpiston Verge caliper with a single 379.9 Galfer circumferential solution.

The wheelbase of the Verge TS Pro California Edition is 60.63 inches. Length is 86.5 inches, width (without mirror) is 35.24 inches, and height (including without mirror) is 44.41 inches. Ground clearance is 5.9 inches. Seat height is 30.71 inches. Curb weight is 540 pounds.

Verge TS Pro California Edition uses the company's Starmatter electronics platform and interface, allowing overtheair software updates when needed. Four riding modes come standard: Range, Zen, Beast or Custom.

While The Verge says the TS Pro California Edition is a 'seasonal release', it hasn't listed any limits on how many of these it plans to make so far, or when it plans to offer this model if it's truly seasonal.

If you're interested in the TS Pro California Edition, the total US price is listed as $30,900 before applicable taxes and fees. In order to get in line, you must pay a $100 prereservation fee when placing your order. The Verge estimates that the TS Pro California Edition will be ready for delivery from Q2 2024.
