I am narrating this video while I am treating this 36 year old man who complained of a large central 'dark 'blob' plus other squiggles and lines. When I went out to the waiting area and saw that he was young, I had already prepared my " I see your problem, but I can't treat you" speech, which is the expectation and prediction with younger patients. It is just unusual that they are ever treatable as their floaters are usually microscopic fibers and strands sitting too close to the retina. I was flabbergasted and very surprised to see a large, central weiss ring floater with associated hazy, frostedglass vitreous cortex sheets that were probably responsible for the 'squiggly lines' he was also describing. It was the appearance of floaters that I would expect in an older myope.
