Please understand. Jesus IS Lord. No one is denying that. Please do not say that "if we're saved Jesus is Lord". We know that! We are not talking about that! In this clip JVM is talking about an increasingly common heretical false doctrine known as "Lordship Salvation". It should be called "Lifestyle Salvation", because that's what it teaches. It is taught by many modern pastors. PLEASE NOTE!!! "Lordship Salvation" is a euphemistically named false doctrine that emphasizes works for salvation. "Making Jesus Lord of your life" (as they say) actually equates to law keeping. Galatians 2:16 says "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." also remember Ephesians 2:89 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."

Quite a few people have a kneejerk reaction and think that by denying “Lordship Salvation” we are denying the Lordship of Christ. WE DO NOT! We say clearly again JESUS IS LORD!! I will shout that from the rooftops til my last breath! But “Lordship Salvation” is a subtle worksbased heresy that stresses works, law keeping, and turning from sin (one's lifestyle), for salvation. It has nothing to do with Jesus as Lord. It is BECAUSE he is my Lord that I defend his truth!! I hope you understand.

Ephesians 2:89
Galatians 2:16

"Lordship Salvation" is an insidious doctrine. Jesus is Lord, and because of that fact I will follow and defend His truth. And His truth is that works don't save you. Only HE does!! Amen!

"Lordship Salvation" is a heretical false doctrine that teaches you have to "make Jesus lord of your life". This is a subtle, sneaky way to backload works into salvation. But salvation is by grace through faith in Christ ALONE! (Ephesians 2:89, Galatians 2:16, John 3:16, Acts 16:31) Lordshippers, as they are lovingly called around here, conflate the requirements for salvation with the expectations for discipleship and Christian living/growth. If the doctrine was called "Lordship Christianity" it would be better, provided it does not make works part of salvation!

WE ACKNOWLEDGE JESUS IS LORD!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT!!!!!! We will be true to HIM and HIS teachings... not man's teachings!!
###################################################################

The GOSPEL!! Jesus is alive! Believe Him today to receive the gift of everlasting life! (John 3:1618)

So... let me state once again for the record that Jesus is Lord. We don't make him Lord. He IS Lord. He literally IS LORD. "Lordship Salvation" is not about that. It is a semantical heresy that says that "making Jesus Lord of your life" will earn you salvation. Of course this is rank heresy of the most egregious type. Just because it uses the terms "Lord" and "Jesus" doesn't make it doctrinally correct. Looking closer one sees quite clearly that "Lordship Salvation" teaches salvation BY WORKS. Why? Because it teaches that "making Jesus Lord of your life" = Doing lots of good things, or Bearing fruit, or doing good deeds, or living a holy life. All things that are wonderful, but not required (key word "required") for salvation. "Lordship Salvation" actually teaches "Lifestyle Salvation" because it teaches that one's lifestyle earns (or keeps) salvation. But it doesn't. For every Christian that is a well behaved person, I can show you two nonChristians who are just as decent and wellbehaved, lifestylewise. Because our lifestyle doesn't save us. Our FAITH (BELIEF) in Christ saves us. Over 200 verses in the Bible teach that we must believe unto salvation.
