In October 2022, Ja 1271 ran a number of trips around the Auckland and Waikato regions, including a trip down the Glenbrook Vintage Railway to Victoria Ave. The trips tied in with the 100th anniversary of the Waiuku Branch, where Ww 644 and Ww 480 reenacted the ribbon cutting of the original line.
