This is a recreation of Jann Mardenborough's crash in BeamNG Drive from the movie, Gran Turismo: Based On A True Story (2023).

The incident itself in the movie is a recreation of Jann Mardenborough's 2015 VLN Series crash at The Nürburgring. Mardenborough's Nissan GT3 NISMO caught air at the corner Flugplatz. The car flipped outside of the racetrack, landing in a spectator area. Unfortunately, many spectators were injured, and one killed. Jann Mardenborough was able to escape the crash with minimal injuries and returned to racing soon after.
