On September 14, 2024, we went to Mt. Kurodake in Daisetsuzan, where the earliest autumn leaves appear in Japan.
The leaves were at their peak above the 8th station (*^^*)
It was interesting to see the autumn gradually descending.
Then we went around Ohachidaira! The huge caldera with a circumference of 6km is a masterpiece!
The area around Kumonodaira was also beautifully colored, mainly with the Acanthus chinensis and Urashima azalea!
On this day, temperatures were recorded below freezing at the stone chamber and Hakuun hut, and frost pillars and ice could be seen.
I wonder if the first snow will come next week?
The season is progressing rapidly! (^^)!

Be careful of falling rocks around Ohachidaira, such as when climbing Mt. Kitachindake.
The roundtrip ticket for the Kurodake Ropeway costs 3,300 yen.
Because it is a threeday holiday, the first parking lot was full at 6am when the first train departed.
If the second parking lot is full, use the public parking lot.
