Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) is a guidance tail kit converts unguided, freefall "dumb" bombs into accurate, allweather "smart" Guided Bomb Units (GBU). These bombs cost much less than laser or television guided bombs. The tail section contains an inertial navigation system (INS) and global positioning system (GPS) guidance control unit.

JDAM's versatility extends across a wide range of missions and operational environments. Whether conducting counterterrorism operations, interdicting enemy supply lines, or providing close air support to ground forces, JDAM proves its effectiveness time and time again.
