This short video demonstrates how to remove and replace the door hinge bushings or liners on your Jeep Wrangler JK, JL, JLU or JKU. This is a step by step video using a door bushing removal tool and plastic hinge liners. There are many hinge liner options and we chose to use the DEF Door Bushing Removal Tool and Hinge Liners for a Wrangler JK or JL (this kit is for 4 doors) for all 2008 and up Jeep Wranglers. We purchased this kit on Amazon. See video for further details. Pay attention not to damage the side of your Jeep using a hammer so close to the side panel. Some hinges may be older and have more damage which may be more difficult to remove. We suggest using a penetrating oil or catalyst like PB Blaster prior to attempting the removal. Some hinge liners can be so damaged you may have to trim damaged material. Be patient and allow the penetrating oil to work if needed. You may have to move it a little and apply more oil. Also, some people add a light grease to the inside of the hinge before putting in the new liner. Please use a professional service technician if you are do not have the required experience.
