The Lord is My Rock Inspiration:

All of us are faced with difficult challenges in our lives from time to time. Some, we can’t control, and it’s difficult to cope on our own. It’s through these trials that we have the opportunity to learn, grow, and rise above, or do the opposite, and wallow in sadness and despair.
I have great respect for people of all religions and beliefs. Our world is diverse and beautiful. All of us can contribute our time, talents, and light to make life more meaningful; not only for ourselves, but for everyone we encounter.
This painting is based off of what I believe, and through it’s creation, I’ve gained a great sense of peace. I hope that by sharing my light, all of you can take its meaning and feel what I have felt through my experience.
The photo shoot for this painting took place in beautiful Snow Canyon in Southern Utah. I used the talented Darillyn Southworth, owner of https://dbphotographyutah.smugmug.com/ to photograph on site. The talented Jesus model is Josh Treanor.
I’m looking forward to painting more scenes from that day.
My painting took approximately 85 hours to complete, and was painted on a 30x40” linen canvas. The time lapse video condensed the 85 hours of painting to just under 9 minutes! I hope you enjoy your experience as you watch Jesus Christ come to life through my painting.
