In the Indian state of Gujarat, hundreds of candidates showed up for a walkin interview. According to one claim 1,800 candidates turned up for just 10 job vacancies at a private firm. In a viral video, a firm was seen holding interviews at a hotel. The hotel was unable to manage the crowd. It led to a stampedelike situation. This is not a oneoff incident. Recently, UP Police announced 62 vacancies for the position of a peon. More than 90,000 candidates comprising PhD holders, postgraduates and graduates applied for the vacant position. These incidents hint at a job crisis in India. As per the Indian government data, 16 percent of the youth is jobless. Palki Sharma tells you more.
