Choosing the right gear for throughhiking is imperative to a light pack as well as comfortable and happy campers! I took a lot of time to do the research required to figure out exactly what gear was going to be the best gear to carry with us when we hiked the John Muir Trail. Though the right gear might look different for you we wanted to share the exact pieces of gear we used on the trail, why, and our thoughts on them after hiking the 220+ miles of the JMT. This is the last installment in our fourpart video series and details the “extras” we carried while through hiking. Things such as tracking devices, maps, hygiene, and first aid!
